Visual Language - Studio Brief 1 - Set, Series, Sequence - Phillipe Grammaticopoulos



In these snapshots of his work, you can clearly see how Phillipe manipulates black ink to create a sense of depth. His sketchbook work tends to lean more towards concept design and storyboards. It can be difficult to create gradient with a harsh medium like pen, but utilising a cross hatching technique can help create a sense of dimension.

Using monochrome tones creates clear imagery for artists to work from, and also sets the tone for the Animation/Illustration if clearly depicted that the dark tones is the style that is being aimed for.
