Visual Language - Set, Series, Sequence - Lilli Carre

Throughout this project, I was influenced heavily by Lilli Carre's illustrative work. Here work flows evenly on the paper and she manages to capture her ideas and concepts quickly and with detail.

Lilli Carre uses ink on paper to capture movement and convey ideas. The images she creates have a linier aesthetic and a constant flow to them. They're like little snapshots into the world she sees around her, and  you can almost imagine them moving.

Carre uses these images she creates to thumbnail and start to story board her ideas. It is said that sometimes she skips this step, and freely starts to animate her illustrations. This gives her creative freedom to create an animation without any constraints. This can also enable her to capture the initial drawings spontaneity and characteristics. To me this creative thought process is admirable but also dangerous.
